Wedding Location and Details

Our wedding will be held at The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts on Sunday, June 12th at 6:30 p.m.

Our ceremony will take place in the museum's Atrium, which is a modern addition to the Peabody Essex. It has a high glass roof, and is next to the Yin Yu Tang, a 200 year old Chinese house. It's a big open area with lots of light and clean architectural lines.

There will be a cocktail hour held in the Bartlett and Copeland galleries which house the museum's Chinese export porcelain collection. There is an adjacent garden which where you can enjoy some snacks and cocktails, weather permitting!

The reception will be held in the East India Marine Hall. This building was completed in 1824 for a group of Merchant Marines called the East India Marine Society.  John Quincy Adams was one of the dignitaries who attended it's dedication.  It is beautiful space with large arched windows and original hardwood floor. The room is lined with old marine figureheads and other nautical art pieces.

We chose this location because it is beautiful, and one of Mara's favorite museums.
